Some of our internal projects push the limits of our techniques and force us to change how we do things. This one was no different.
This demo has been like a fine wine and had to age well before it could be released. The creation of the Clozex demo began in late 2021 with modeling completed in early 2022. Just before we were going to release it as a demo, we decided it needed surgical gloves. Sounded simple at the time but client work caused the project to be shelved until late 2023.
The demo shows how effective instructions along with a 3D demo of the procedure can quickly guide someone from zero knowledge to being able to quickly deploy a wound closure device in case of emergency.
The Wound Closure Demo was created as part of Route 66 digital's internal safety training program. It relies heavily on Blender's armatures and bendybones to rig and control the hands and the bending of the closure device.
Extra effort was kept to minimize triangles and leave the majority to the gloves: 196,576 triangles.
Total scene triangle count: 260,678.
