The Timepiece demo is an extraordinarily simple demo. A video was created to set the tone of the interactive. We created this demo to test the programming necessary to make the watch show the correct time based on the user’s local time zone. The logic set the stage for a client project. Default annotations and controls are used.
This demo was designed for the desktop on Chrome or Safari but does run on Tablets with potential frame rate degredation.
The Timepiece demo has functioning hour, minute and second hands that are based of the user’s computer clock.
The model used in the demo was purchased from an online model provider. The purchased model had some issues that were corrected to take care of gross errors only. Some mode issues still remain but for this demo they were not a concern as our goal is to test new devices as it relates to the camera move at the start of the demo. Some devices have issues with play back and we use this demo to test performance of client requested devices to determine what performance tweaks will be needed.
Only 420,000 triangles. Not a lot, but there are over 500 unique parts, making the model density very high especially in the center or face. Typically we would clone the repeating parts and optimize the poly count but for this project we left them all in trying to find out what devices would struggle with the camera moves with having so many over lapping parts.
